Food Review NYC: Minamoto Kitchoan

In the midst of all the busyness in NYC, in midtown, there is a quaint little Japanese shop just for authentic desserts.

608 5th Avenue, NY, NY 10020
(between 48th St. & 49th St.)

I've always been crazy in love with the way that Japanese package and display almost anything and everything, this dessert shop is no different.

The shop was long and filled with a walls and walls of display of their beautiful dessert products. Each product was carefully put together in the most elegant and tasteful manner. The delicate sweets so good you want to jump right in and have at it.

Nothing more can be said, so here's some more visuals.

and the store itself...

 ......was busy busy busy!

My friend delighted us with some tasty treats to go.

1) Tenkataihei (fish shaped red bean cake in the softest sponge cake exterior)
2) Mochi with red bean paste filling

In the heart of 5th Avenue, this is definitely a sweet little shop that I would recommend to anyone who wanted to experience a taste and atmosphere of Japan. And both desserts weren't too sweet, which made it even better to enjoy.
